TA Application: 
Graduate Student Teaching Opportunities in the Korean Language Program

The Korean Language Program is seeking qualified graduate students to teach Beginning and Intermediate Korean language courses. Applicants who are selected through the initial document review will be contacted individually to schedule an interview.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

1. Be either:

  • a current Ph.D. student in the Department of Literature or the Department of Linguistics; or
  • a current M.A. or Ph.D. student in another department within the Division of Arts and Humanities or the Division of Social Sciences, with either a KFL (Korean as a Foreign Language) or TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification and/or at least one year of formal language teaching experience.
2. Demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in Korean and advanced or near-native proficiency in English.

3. Submit the following application materials for review:
  • A current curriculum vitae (CV), including language learning and teaching experience.
  • A 50-minute teaching demonstration video.
  • A lesson plan and all instructional materials used in the teaching demonstration.
